It was later found out that Foxe was a stripper in a local establishment and she and Mills had been "keeping company" for some time. Mills at first denied the incident had ever occurred, but had to retract the denial when it turned out that a local TV cameraman happened to be nearby at that moment and caught the whole incident on film. The ensuing scandal, and another incident involving Miss Foxe, caused Mills to resign his chairmanship and retire in 1976. |
